ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Dodgers are backing off on the throwing program for injured ace Clayton Kershaw, postponing a bullpen session while saying the left-hander hasn’t had any setbacks with his shoulder.Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said Sunday there wasn’t a timetable for when Kershaw would throw in the bullpen or face live hitters. Over three days, the update from Roberts changed from Kershaw throwing to hitters, to instead throwing a bullpen, to doing neither.Kershaw threw on flat ground from the outfield before Sunday’s game at Texas. The three-time NL Cy Young Award winner and 10-time All-Star hasn’t pitched in a game since June 27 because of left shoulder soreness. Roberts has said Kershaw (10-4 with an MLB-best 2.55 ERA) won’t make a rehab start before returning to the active roster.Roberts reiterated that Kershaw will throw a bullpen session before facing live hitters.“I just don’t know when that (bullpen) is going to happen,” Roberts said. “I’m go...Live updates | Brian Harman to put claret jug to some use after winning British Open

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) — Cleveland Browns star Nick Chubb was one of several NFL running backs to take part in a Zoom call on Saturday night to discuss the current trend of their position being underpaid and devalued by some teams.Chubb is under contract through next season, but said he has already contemplated his future in a market increasingly becoming less friendly to running backs.Chubb said he was on the call with Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants, Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans and Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers.Barkley has threatened to sit out training camp in protest after he couldn’t come to terms on a long-term contract last week. The Giants signed him to the $10 million franchise tender for running backs.“There’s really nothing we can do,” Chubb said Sunday following practice. “We’re kind of handcuffed with the situation. Our production hurts us the most. If we go out there and run for 2,000 yards with so many carr...The collapse of a building in Cameroon has killed 16 people and authorities say the toll could rise

YAOUNDE, Cameroon (AP) — At least 16 people were killed and nearly three dozen injured Sunday when a four-story building collapsed onto a smaller one in Cameroon’s largest city, authorities said.“The casualty figures may be higher, said Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua, governor of Cameroon’s Littoral region, where the Douala is located. The city is 30 miles (210 km) west of the capital, Yaounde. The governor said that “rescue workers, assisted by Cameroon government troops, are still digging the wreckage to see if more bodies can be recovered.” The military’s fire brigade has been ordered to join the country’s Red Cross and other rescue services in searching for survivors.Residents living in the Ndogbon neighborhood where the incident took place said they are in shock.“We heard people screaming … and struggled to help some out of the wreckage, but could not do it with our spades and (garden) hoes,” said Gaspard Ndoppo, who lives near the collapsed buildings.Building collaps...German center-right leader mulls cooperation with far right at municipal level

The leader of Germany’s center-right opposition, Friedrich Merz, said on Sunday that his party may enter political alliances with the far right at the municipal level — indicating a potentially ground-breaking shift in German politics that immediately attracted sharp criticism.Germany’s established parties have long rejected any cooperation with the far-right, anti-migration and climate change-denying Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), which was founded 10 years ago and has in recent months risen to the second position in national polls. But Merz told public broadcaster ZDF in an interview Sunday evening that his Christian Democratic Union (CDU) may abandon this position, although he argued that this shift only applied at the local level.“Local politics is different from state and federal politics,” Merz said in reaction to recent triumphs of the AfD at the local level in eastern Germany, such as in Sonneberg in Thuringia, where the AfD last month for the first time won a district co...Ticker: Lawsuit alleges ‘hidden’ fees at Frontier Airlines; Radioactive leak reported near Mississippi River

Frontier Airlines markets itself as having the lowest fares, but a new class-action lawsuit alleges the Denver-based carrier makes up the difference with hidden, inflated fees.Florida resident Amira Hamad filed the 21-page lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida in late June, seeking a refund of the fees and $100 million in punitive damages for herself and others.A spokesperson for Frontier said the airline doesn’t comment on pending litigation.Hamad said in the lawsuit that she booked a round-trip flight with Frontier after seeing an “attractive” price online and reading on the company’s website that passengers are allowed one free personal item no larger than 14 inches tall, 18 inches wide and 8 inches deep.According to the lawsuit, when Hamad arrived at her gate, Frontier’s bag sizer was smaller than the dimensions advertised on the website. When her bag wouldn’t fit into the allegedly shrunken bag sizer, the airline charged Hamad $100 for her “oversized...‘Barbie’ beats ‘Oppenheimer’
